I'm Connor Meakin, an Aspiring Renaissance Man. I Cook & Eating Lavishly and High Five strangers whilst running. I'm the Community Tsar @HootSuite and a washed up International Amateur Athlete.

Connor is a digital media specialist with a passion for building flourishing and sustainable communities around a brand. He specializes in content strategy and creation, copywriting, and digital media with the goal of establishing international communities online and offline. Connor currently leads the community content team at HootSuite. He manages the production of content into eleven different languages both on HootSuite blog and other online and offline publications. Connor is a past member of the Canadian Men's National Field Hockey team and a recent graduate from The University of British Columbia. Through three years of playing field hockey for Canada, he accumulated 45 international caps (games played), playing everywhere from Russia to Australia. Connor also writes a personal blog, The Aspiring Renaissance Man, about his transition from full time amateur athletics and school to his career in digital media. The blog initially represented a way to document the process of using social media to educate and assist his efforts toward a career. Now the goal of his blog is to inspire, educate, and enlighten others, and show them that any career is possible no matter what your education or background may be. Outside of sports and social media, Connor loves to cook and eat well, he fishes and frequents the beach in the summer and snowboards as much possible in the winter. He also enjoys running -  he high fives other runners to add a social element to an otherwise individual hobby.
